In high school 10 years ago, Jamal was one of the best NBA prospects, building his name alongside his father, Benji. Jamal presently works a dead-end job, plays pick-up basketball with his pals, and struggles to provide for his family. Imani, his wife, puts in a lot of effort to help out her husband. One afternoon, Jeremy, a basketball player with ambitions of playing in the NBA but who has injured his knees and is trying to make money by promoting a detox diet, enters Jamal's life. At first, Jamal and Jeremy don't get along, but as they search for a partner for an upcoming two-on-two basketball game with a significant cash prize that may change their life, Jamal learns Jeremy's skill on the court. The lads need to learn how to cooperate before they can aim for victory. They must fight for admittance fees and the chance to establish a bond that will soon be put to the test by their prior transgressions.
